Originally produced in Campania (the region of Naples), Provolone is considered the most common pasta filata cheese ("stretchable cheese"). Sold in the shape of small or enormous sausages, this cheese has a characteristic straw yellow surface colour.

Provolone is an excellent snack food, sandwich or submarine filling. This pleasantly versatile cheese is perfect to eat at the end of a meal or served in appetizers, main dishes or on a cheese platter.
